LaTeX is a system creation of texts, specifically oriented to meet the needs technical and scientific . Is based on a markup language called low-level TeX and consists of a collection of " macros" that facilitate the use of this powerful language. Unlike other word processing systems do not get the final result as being written (WYSIWYG, What You See Is What You Get) but first create a source code and then processed to get the document. The creator of TeX is Donald Knuth. His work was commissioned by the American Mathematical Society in the early 70's. To write text, display, print, you must install the following programs:
Ghostscript: PS and PDF interpreter. Freely available under GPL
