I Introduction to Active Directory, Domains, Trees, Forests W2K3

start saying that in of Microsoft server technologies, Windows 2003 has a very strong way to authenticate users within a weel or business network and makes it through Active Directory or Active Directory (AD), which in turn works under domain concepts and relying on the DNS service.

For these effects in Windows 2003 Server environments, which are defined domain, Trees and Forests; details below those that are exposed to examples

DOMAIN .- It is a region, sphere, grouping or defined area of \u200b\u200bdomain objects and that is comprised of domain controllers, computers, users, organizational units and groups.
This region or area, access is defined, its policies, ratings and restriccions on them. The team that has full control of all these elements within the domain, the domain controller.

TREE .- It occurs when a domain root, or first domain, in turn has children subdomains or domains. All of these groups that break off the root domain would form a tree. Understand that each domain or subdomain has its own DC (Domain Controller).

FOREST .- It's when there are multiple domain trees is say that the whole domain tree in an organization is denomima FOREST.
Domain Control .- is the team that is responsible for controlling all access, permits, authorizations, policies, configurations, etc. domain of objects within a specific domain.

domain objects .- It is said of the elements of a domain and are Domain Controllers, Computers, Users, Groups and Organizational Units.
examples presented above in our names or initials are in English so tnemos:
DC = Domain Controller, Domain Controller
WKS = Workstations: Computer Users = users
OU = Organizational Unit: Organizational Units

In W2k3 technology, recently shown using the DNS server as a service for search and location of resources within a domain. so it is very important to its implementation and good setup for the domain controller can do its job.
also should be emphasized that another service that is still used is the WIN server, so that their implementation and configuration is needed, because the stations of Windows XP and earlier versions use it. Recently in the versions of Windows Vista and Windows 2008 Server dispenses with this service.

defined these concepts we turn to the parts of implementation and configuration of the respective services. We
narrow here that this blog is dedicated primarily to practical implementations of the different services of Windows 2003 Server, so that other theoretical concepts and deepening the existing track references like TechNet or the Microsoft Technical Reference.

My Mystery Snail Floating

RTL8187B Driver in Debian Lenny (Toshiba A215-sp6806)

After months without writing anything, I comment the last thing I ever did. Recently purchased a Toshiba Laptop A215-sp6806. The first thing I did when I got home was to erase Windows Vista ("32-bit version for amd64?, Do not understand). Then, I installed Ubuntu 8.04 for amd64, which detected almost all hardware except the webcam and wifi, and another partition Debian Lenny amd64, both work perfectly with some devices undetected.

I should mention that I'm new to GNU / Linux but I wanted to change the operating system because it best fits my needs.

The problem with the device is wi-fi there is no native driver for linux, so I thought, but after searching through google for a couple of weeks I came to several conclusions:

  • windows drivers do not work with ndiswrapper, even though it supports the 64-bit driver that I got did not work.

  • Ndiswrapper driver works well with windows 98 but with a 32-bit (but not what I wanted).

  • There is a project where a driver realtek modified to work in kernel 2.6.24. Raven ~ www.datanorth.net/ / RTL8187B / .

I wrote an email to Realtek ( wlanfae@realtek.com.tw ) to send me any Linux driver that worked on the laptop with 64-bit system. And get a reply. The driver you sent me works fine with the detail that always shows the connection to 30%, which is not reality because Ubuntu 32-bit Vista and the connection was 75%, write to that email until you decide to publish the driver into page or gladly send you the file.

not want to write about the "Linux experience" or operating system change, there is much documentation on the internet, but my advice is to try.

what is the future SCADA systems?

As a student of engineering is necessary to analyze the different types of technologies used in industry. In fact, the knowledge of what is beyond my hands escapes but I like to think that what I research is relevant ...

The future of SCADA systems is linked to "information services company." The overall trend is to move all data including SCADA HTML format. This SCADA system integrated into a comprehensive database of the company. Improvements in hardware in the past were overshadowed by improvements in software. This will continue in the future. The companies will use WWW to access SCADA data from anywhere in the world. This will allow anyone in the company and beyond to access SCADA data.

The SCADA hardware side, improvements in smart sensors mean that it will continue to see a reduction in the price and size of sensors. Furthermore, while increasing functionality. Fieldbus systems, it seems, are becoming easier to install and use. The trend is to have a Fieldbus system can be installed by almost anyone and is plug and play. This will also reduce the repair time and cost because everything is modular. Smart sensors allow the user to see problems, SCADA software, to the lowest level of the sensor. The movement to a universal protocol is eclipsed slow at best and probably the case for the use of Ethernet as a common carrier for the data. Future systems will use many protocols but each protocol will be embedded in Ethernet packets within a 100 Mhz system compatible with OSI. We will see more use of optical cables and fiber radio for communication.

seeing the connection between SCADA and WSN (Wireless sensor networks), it is clear that sensors and their tendency to be more efficient is common in both fields of technology. "WSN-based SCADA? maybe it's a reality.

How Long Battery Trolling Last

'm Dad! Excellent

After a month without writing anything on the blog trying to justify my absence: the birth of my son Miguel de Jesus. I will briefly describe my experience of these days as parents.

week before the day of the caesarean I was painting the house, after the routine weekly consultations, and back pain by the hustle-horny doctor decided to advance the date a few days because the amniotic fluid (after searching in google I found out he had told the doctor) was very low and if the duck, the guacharaca ...

Well, I have pictures of the entire operation, before and after, and is completely different from the ones we sell in the movies. For me the best moment was seeing for the first time that small unless you feel like part of you-even cried, I thought I was not going to affect that way. These weeks have been difficult because the baby wants to eat all the time and sleep through the night is a luxury!. From here on out is just keep fighting for the loaches, a better person to deliver the best to the next generation.
