In the nineties the development and interest in genetic issue and the rise of biology to physical science status increased, hence that biotechnology has become one of the most forward scientific disciplines, bringing on both strong ethical questions about its application in areas such as genetics, biosecurity, genetic modification, among others.
Also, technological progress and recent discoveries have expanded the boundaries of our knowledge and our ability to control life, but this seems to reduce uncertainty and vulnerability of the human condition. Likewise, the arguments Unlike traditional and the alleged exception of our species are being increasingly questioned from different scientific and artistic fields: generating the boundaries between what is and is not human to fade.
All these developments have created the opportunity to create art that used to life as new media, an emerging art form where you create with test tubes and laboratories become art studios. Biological material: DNA, proteins, cells and organisms-including humans-become the best opportunity to explore different ways of representation and communication.
